TELACU Nurses at WMMCCF
David C. Lizarraga, Chairman and Founder of TELACU Industries and Beth Zachary, president of White Memorial, flank a group of nursing students awarded scholarships for their final year of nursing school at Rio Hondo College
The partnership seeks to increase the number of culturally competent at WMMC. These local students graduate and remain to care for people in their own community. Sharing a common language and culture, as well as local roots helps contribute to a speedier recovery, greater patient satisfaction and higher nurse retention rates.
Since its establishment in 2002, the TELACU Nursing Scholarship Program has presented awards to more than 100 promising young nursing students. A great majority of the award winners have chosen to remain in the local area to serve and care for the people from East Los Angeles. Click here to learn more about Nursing at WMMC.
