Cleft Palate
Campaign Focus
The Campaign for Cleft Palate
Cleft lip and palate are facial deformities that are treatable through surgical procedures. Without treatment, affected children can suffer life-long handicaps such as facial deformities, chronic dental and hearing problems and even malnutrition. Cleft palate children also suffer from mental and social consequences of the disfiguring condition.
The Cleft Palate Program at White Memorial Medical Center is the only such program in east Los Angeles County. Each year it serves approximately 350 cleft lip and palate children. Many of them are underserved, low-income infants and children under 5 years old. Our goal is to raise $100,000 to help bring smiles to the faces of more cleft palate children this year. Gifts of any amount will help us reach this goal. For more information or to make a donation, contact the WMMC Charitable Foundation at 323-260-5739, or donate online.
The White Memorial Medical Center Charitable Foundation is licensed by the City of Los Angeles-Police Commission Charitable Services Section to make appeals for charitable donations. If you would like to see a copy of our permit, please contact us.
