Dr. Flores
Hector Flores, M.D., Named to Foundation Board
At its January meeting, members of the Foundation Board elected Hector Flores, M.D., to serve a two-year term. Born in Mexico, Dr. Flores attended Sierra High School in Whittier, California and graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in history. Dr. Flores attended the UC Davis School of Medicine and, upon graduation, was honored with the Heinemann Pulmonary Medicine Award and the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation National Merit Award. He completed his internship and residency in family medicine at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Flores is a founding member and Co-Director of the White Memorial Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program, consistently ranked as the top program in the state because of its quality and ability to recruit and retain family physicians in underserved areas. He also serves as Medical Director of the Family Care Specialists Medical Group, the faculty practice for the WMMC Family Medicine Residency Program. As well, he serves as a member of the following Boards: Directors of Blue Shield of California, the Charles Drew University Trustees and the South Central Family Health Center Directors.
