E. Laurence Spencer-Smith Joins Foundation Board

Dr. E. Laurence Spencer-Smith and his colleagues deliver more than 300 babies each month at White Memorial Medical Center. Since completing his medical residency training in 1986, Dr. Spencer-Smith has served as the Chief of Gynecology since 1989 and President of the White Memorial medical staff from 2002 to 2004. He also has served as Assistant Clinical Professor, Obstetrics and Gynecology, at Loma Linda University. Dr. Spencer-Smith has been a generous supporter of the hospital for many years, sharing not only his time and expertise with the hospital, but also making generous donations. “I was born here,” Dr. Spencer-Smith says. “My father was on the medical staff here and my entire professional career has been here. I try to give something back and I am proud to join the leadership of the Foundation in support of this important mission to serve the community.” His wife, Mary, is a highly regarded physician on the White Memorial medical staff in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology. Both are avid golfers and “enjoy and are particularly thankful for the scramble format” of the Foundation’s Annual Golf Tournament. They reside in La Canada and have two children.
