Although the last three minutes were the most painful and at times I had to sit down and rethink my ability to continue, I stuck it through one step at a time. Walking through the finish line felt like I won the greatest triumph against myself. other examples were when I went out of my way to help others at the expense of my convenience or comfort. there was once a retired widow who came out to my church and would often ask for a car ride to go grocery shopping. She was also very lonely and did not have many people to talk to. It was difficult for me at times because of my schedule, but I never regretted helping her; the greatest reward was her thankfulness for simply giving my time. |
