After the Surgery
Patients rest comfortably in our recovery area until they are well enough to go home.
Before you go home, you will be provided with written instructions on how to care for yourself following surgery. We will review these instructions with you and answer any questions or concerns before you leave.
Care is taken to ensure patients are comfortable but it is normal to experience some pain or discomfort in the area where surgery was performed. Pain medications or other pain management may be prescribed by your doctor to help reduce any discomfort following your surgery.
Please follow all your doctor’s or surgeon’s instructions concerning medications, diet, bathing and physical activity.
If you have any questions after you leave the LASC, please call your surgeon’s office at the number provided.
Excessive bleeding or pain should be reported immediately to your surgeon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, especially if you feel something is not right.
Eat lightly and do not drink alcohol or take non-prescription drugs (except as directed by your physician) for 24 hours after your surgery.
