Overview

The Respiratory Care Department at White Memorial Medical Center (WMMC) offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient pediatric, adult and neonatal respiratory care services. Our services include oxygen administration, mechanical ventilation, chest physiotherapy, pulmonary function testing, pulmonary rehabilitation, and clinical education of respiratory care students in the community. The Respiratory Care Department operates under the Medical Direction of Ramadas Abboy, M.D. and the administrative direction of Rick Kenney, MSM, RRT.

RT team members have come to White from all over the country and several foreign countries. All Therapists possess the State’s Respiratory Care Practitioner License required to practice in the state of California. The department has team members that are active participants in the California Society for Respiratory Care (CSRC), American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC), American Lung Association (ALA), and American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).

The department provides clinical and educational respiratory care services to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients and their loved ones. Respiratory Therapists provide compassionate, loving care to patients and loved ones in an environment that promotes a multidisciplinary approach to care for patients and family, open to spiritual growth and believes, and supportive of the community and stakeholders involved.
