Two hospital units and the hospital overall have once again received high honors for patient satisfaction, as part of the Professional Research Consultant’s 2008 National Excellence in Healthcare Awards.
For the second year in a row, 6North Telemetry received a 5-Star award for overall quality of care in the inpatient med-surg award category. The 5-Star Award is given only for those who score in the top 10 percent (90th percentile) in the PRC national database. Those who receive this honor are considered best practice resources for other hospitals.
The Emergency Department received a 4-Star Award, also for overall quality of care. Its scores were in the top 25 percent of the PRC database for 2007. This is the third year in a row that the ED has received this award.
The hospital overall was the recipient of a 4-Star Award, for overall quality of inpatient care, again reflecting patient satisfaction scores in the top 25 percent. This is the fourth year the hospital has received this award.
The awards are based on our hospital’s 2007 patient satisfaction survey data. They were formally awarded at a PRC conference earlier this month in Baltimore, MD.
“We know from experience that the way to achieve top patient satisfaction is to focus on the things that are most important to the patients on that unit.,” said Mara Bryant, director of Organizational Performance. “And we’re dedicated to achieving that.”
