New Nuclear Medicine Camera Arrives
An advanced nuclear medicine camera installed in the specialty care tower is expected to be ready for use this week, pending physicist acceptance testing and Department of Health Services sign off.
The new camera is of higher resolution than the camera it is replacing, which will result in higher diagnostic accuracy. Additionally, the camera’s increased speed improves throughput and makes the patient more comfortable.
The camera is a cutting-edge diagnostic tool for nuclear cardiology oncology studies, and also provides a significant increase in diagnostic accuracy in bone/orthopedic studies. It is also more energy efficient. Lastly, physicians are able to view results by the time the exam is finished.
