Pharmacy Residency
Overview
The White Memorial Medical Center Pharmacy Residency is designed to provide residents the necessary clinical experience and skills in various aspects of patient care and pharmacy practice.
Training areas include, acute care, ambulatory care, drug information, drug use policy development, clinical services, and practice management. Residents will be trained to provide direct patient care, assist with ongoing clinical programs, provide drug information through research, and assist the medical, nursing and pharmacy staff on therapy of choice.
The residents will be involved in various teaching activities
including in-services and providing didactic lectures
to Loma Linda University (LLU) Pharmacy students. They
will have the opportunity to precept fourth year LLU
pharmacy students, participate in distributional activities
and processes, prepare new drug monographs or therapeutic
evaluations, and attend selective administrative meetings.
The residents also perform presentations and assist in
and develop an in-depth understanding of the inter-relationships
of clinical, operational, administrative, academic, and
organizational pharmacy.
