Internal Medicine Residency Program

Compensation Package: The compensation figures listed below are effective beginning January 1, 2008. The total annual compensation package includes all bonuses, incentives, etc. Board Prep/Conference Allowances are not included as they vary according to level and designation by Program Director.

PGY-1: $43,562

PGY-2: $45,627

PGY-3: $48,442

Plan Coverage: Health and Dental plans for the house officer and his/her immediate family is provided. Malpractice coverage, SDI and Life insurance is also included.

Pay Period: The pay checks are distributed by Medical Education in a biweekly basis. Bonus checks are distributed to those up to date with their medical record dictations.

Vacation: Each intern or resident is given 3 full weeks of paid vacation per year. These may be taken during elective rotations or occasionally during other non-call services.

Housing: The majority of our residents live in the nearby communities of Pasadena, Glendale, Monterey Park, etc. Housing is also available on hospital grounds.

Parking: Secured, gated parking is provided to all housestaff. Our security guards patrol all parking areas on a 24-hour basis.

Meals: While on duty, all meals are provided free of charge. The Restaurant is open until 2 a.m. daily.
