Compensation Package
The compensation figures listed below are effective beginning January 1, 2008. The total annual compensation package includes all bonuses, incentives, etc. Board Prep/Conference Allowances are not included as they vary according to level and designation by Program Director.
PGY-1: $43,562
PGY-2: $45,627
PGY-3: $48,042
PGY-3: $53,034
Paychecks are distributed bi-weekly on Thursday after 1:30pm by medical education. A bi-weekly cash bonus is given for timely completion of medical records. A $200 book allowance is given per resident per year.
Vacation
Residents receive three weeks paid vacation.
Only one resident on each call group (senior/junior) will be on vacation at the same time. All vacation requests must be submitted to the chief resident and the residency program director. There are ten (10) days per year available for sick leave. There are six (6) authorized holidays for the year.

Sick Leave
Residents receive 10 days of sick leave per year.
Meals
All meals free of charge while on duty. The Cafeteria is open until 2 am daily. Lunch is served in a private doctor's dining room. Refrigerators stocked with food items are also located in the doctor's lounge and operating room lounge.
Parking
Secured, gated parking is provided to all housestaff free of charge.
Housing
Most residents live in nearby communities of Pasadena, Glendale, Monterey Park, etc. Housing is also available on hospital grounds.
Plan Coverage
Health and dental plans for the house officer and his/her immediate family is provided. Malpractice coverage, SDI and life insurance are also included.
