OB/GYN Residency Program
Call Schedule
In
the Department of OB/GYN at White Memorial, the call
schedule is based on a Day Float/Night Float system.
Each resident is assigned to a four-week night
float session, twice per year. During this
time, the "night-float" resident is
responsible for clinical duty from 6 p.m. to 8
a.m., Sunday through Thursday. The night
float resident does not take weekend call duty
(except starting Sunday night, as indicated). The
remaining residents are on "day-float" assignment.
During this time, the day-float resident is responsible
for clinical duty 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Additionally,
the day-float resident covers weekend call duty
two weekends per month (one weekend covering
Friday and Sunday, and the other weekend covering
Saturday).
The remaining two weekends of the month are free
of clinical duty.
As part of the primary care rotation, the OB intern will take call with internal medicine while on the ward and while on medical ICU rotations.
PGY-1 residents do not have on-call duty during rotations in NICU, Emergency Department, and Anesthesia.
