Accelerated Access to Care

We deliver care promptly and efficiently. Because coordination is imperative, we dedicate a clinical nurse specialist to manage all aspects of each cardiac surgery patient’s care, including pre- and post-admission testing, education and after-care. This nurse is also the single point of contact for the patient’s family and referring physicians — so questions can be answered with one phone call.

Best Practices

High-quality cardiac care isn’t subjective; it can be quantitatively measured. The Heart and Vascular Care Center at White Memorial uses evidence-based medicine to drive our clinical processes. We also use recognized outcomes data to track and benchmark our clinical quality against established best practice standards.

Caring, Coordinating & Communicating

We believe that fostering hope in each patient is powerful medicine, and that this is done best when there is a genuine concern for each patient’s emotional, spiritual and physical wellness. To help ensure that every patient feels safe, secure, and is well informed, we’ve focused our energy on creating a culture of communication, compassion and coordinated care. This extends not just to our patients, but to their families and to our physicians as well. It also includes the use of a physician extender (a clinical nurse specialist) to assist with the clinical care of patients while they’re in the hospital.
