Transportation Assistance

At no charge, our friendly and courteous van drivers can pick you up or take you home for hospital appointments, within a five-mile radius of the hospital. Our vans run from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and space is limited.

To schedule transportation assistance, call our Transportation Line at least three days in advance at (323) 260-5837. Last minute requests for assistance may not be accommodated. In some instances, bus assistance may also be available to you. Metro bus line #68 stops directly in front of our hospital. For more information on bus lines, call your local MTA line.

Reasonable Modification

White Memorial Medical Center (WMMC) may allow the reasonable modification of our van transportation policies to accommodate the special needs of persons with disabilities in order to allow them to fully utilize our van transportation services. Whenever possible a request for a reasonable modification or accommodation shall be filed in advance to the Manager of Patient Van Transportation Services by email at CuevasA3@ah.org, by telephone at 323.260.5257, or by mail at 1720 E Cesar E Chavez Avenue, Dept. 8430, Los Angeles, CA, 90033. 

Requests for reasonable modifications or accommodations will not be approved if the request would: fundamentally alter the nature of the service, program, or activity; create a direct threat to the health or safety of others; result in an undue financial and administrative burden; or the individual would still be able to fully use the services provided by WMMC without the modification. Individuals with disabilities may file complaints regarding reasonable modification or accommodation with WMMC’s Complaint Hotline by telephone at 1.323.268.5000 x4367.
