Sr. Vice President, Adventist Health

President, Adventist Health / Southern California Network

President & CEO, White Memorial Medical Center

As President & Chief Executive Officer of White Memorial Medical Center, a 353-bed not-for-profit teaching hospital in the densely-populated community of Boyle Heights, just east of downtown Los Angeles, Beth Zachary’s positive influence, keen business sense and community commitments have been a significant driving force behind the hospital’s growth into one of the most advanced medical centers in the greater Los Angeles region.

Under Beth’s leadership, White Memorial recently completed a 10-year campus rebuilding project. The new hospital not only provides state-of-the-art technology and services, it meets California’s rigorous new seismic safety standards.

Beth has guided the vision and strategic direction of the hospital and overseen successful efforts to put White Memorial at the forefront of clinical quality, service and leadership among healthcare organizations. White Memorial has been identified as one of the state’s top performers in organizational excellence and quality, earning multiple awards and recognitions for exceptional performance and dedication to continuous improvement.

Additionally, under Beth’s leadership, White Memorial has developed numerous community partnerships to meet critical community needs. These include a scholarship program with TELACU and Rio Hondo College that benefits youth and has helped ease the region’s nursing shortage.

In order to perform successfully under health care reform, Adventist Health formed the Southern California Network (SCN), comprised of Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Simi Valley Hospital, San Joaquin Community Hospital and White Memorial Medical Center. In addition to her duties as President & CEO, Beth serves as a Senior Vice President of Adventist Health and President of the SCN.

Beth participates on the boards of a number of state and regional organizations that focus on strengthening health care services, including the Private Essential Access Community Hospitals. In addition, she participates on the boards of AH Physician Network, AHPN-IPA, Glendale Adventist Medical Center, San Joaquin Community Hospital, Simi Valley Hospital, White Memorial Medical Center, and White Memorial Charitable Foundation.

She holds a master’s degree in management from Claremont Graduate School in Claremont, California. She resides in Pasadena with her husband Jim and their daughter Alexandra.
