Lynne Whaley-Welty, RN, MS, Chief Nurse Executive & Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations
Lynne Whaley-Welty, RN, MS, is well known and respected in her field. She has more than 20 years of nursing leadership experience at the executive level. She has served as the President of the Nursing Leadership Council of the Hospital Association of Southern California and the past President for the Association of California Nurse Leaders. Currently, Lynne is Co-Chair of CHA’s Medication Safety Committee and she also teaches at California State University, Long Beach in the masters of nursing administration program.
Prior to joining White Memorial in January 2006, Lynne was Vice President for Patient Care at Good Samaritan Hospital. Before that she served as Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center for nine years.
Lynne received her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, and her master’s degree in nursing administration from California State University, Los Angeles. She also completed the Johnson & Johnson-Wharton Fellows Program in Management for Nurse Executives, the VHA Physician Leadership Program and the University of Southern California Management Development Program. She is a frequent lecturer on nursing and health care today.
Lynne began her career as a medical surgical staff nurse in Denver, and first and foremost, she is a steadfast champion of nursing.
